Composer of China’s national anthem

Nie Er (聶耳) was a Chinese composer best known for March of the Volunteers (義勇軍進行曲), the national anthem (國歌) of the People’s Republic of China.  He was born Nie Shouxin (聶守信) on 14 February 1912 in Kunming, Yunnan Province.
